The purpose of the Edisto Art Guild is to support and promote the arts in our community for he benefit of the residents and tourists.From our myriad of activities including our arts and craft shows, monthly meetings and annual theater production, there are many ways to get involved. Donations of time and monetary donations are always welcomed and contribute greatly to the success of the Art Guild supporting and cultivating the arts in our community.

With These Hands Gallery strives to be the means by which Americans can see, feel and ultimately appreciate the wonders that lie in store for them in American Art. You will find no imports or shiny mass-produced items. Instead, With These Hands Gallery proudly displays the works of both local artisans and nationally recognized artists. Each piece tells a story of an artist and his or her dreams.

The Museum is filled with artifacts and furnishings of many of the island’s most magnificent cotton plantations as well as a portion of one of the last remaining slave cabins on Edisto.   You’ll also find a Civil War Room that is filled with artifacts from this war as well as one of the first printings of the South Carolina Ordinance of Secession. The most recent addition to our collection is an exhibit dedicated solely to the local Native American tribe, the Edisto Indians.There’s always something new to learn here at the Edisto Island Museum.
